Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. She has performed on Broadway and during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at church. Her music career started in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. In 2005, she was commissioned to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for her daily shows at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
